Bahhare was originally selected to stand at Rich Hill because of his superb female family which traces back to Champion sires Mr Prospector, Seattle Slew and recent sire successes Jugah and Bahri.
Bahhare is now a proven sire of G1 winners under Australasian conditions and an analysis of his superior runners shows bloodline crosses that are readily available.
As a grandson of Mr Prospector with Nijinsky as his dam sire Bahhre has the ability to cross well with other Northern Dancer lines. This is illustrated in the pedigrees of G1 performing brothers Hurrah and Best Gift whose damsire Inviting is by Be My Guest by Northern Dancer. Other stakeswinners with Northern Dancer lines include Purde/Masterclass, Successor/The Jogger, Shahara Princess/Green Desert and Jazz Princess/2d dam by Chiefs Crown.
This indicates Bahhare has an affinity with
Northern Dancer lines
Be My Guest, Danzig and
The Minstrel. These are readily available in New Zealand via stallions
Pentire, Volksraad, Danasinga, Kashani, Cape Cross, Masterclass, Keeper, Danske and
Magic of Sydney.
Other notable crosses that have worked include
Star Kingdom through
Lord Ballina,
Vain through
Truly Vain and
Sir Tristram. These lines are in the pedigrees of stakes performers Brave Lancer, Charliehorse and Lord Asterix.
Bahhare carries three lines of Nasrullah daughter-Glammour. Multiple and sex balanced lines of Nasrullah abound through Spinning World and Towkay.
