21 first-crop Proisir weanlings carded for Karaka May Sale

Rich Hill's exciting young sire Proisir (pictured) will be well represented at the upcoming NZB Karaka May Sale, 21 of his colts and filly's entered in the catalogue released this week.

Local breeders are delighted with the first season progeny of Proisir who're stamped in their sire's physical type, and expectations are naturally high towards their sale and race prospects.

With a terrific book of 145 mares in 2015, Proisir finished that first season by leading the freshman sires on mare numbers, and his popularity backed up again in his second year with 133 mares bred in 2016.

Delighted with their new Proisir colts and fillys, breeders were further encouraged by significant pedigree updates such as Proisir's full brother Divine Prophet's Gr.1 Caulfield Guineas win last October. Meanwhile sire Choisir continues adding to his big tally of stakes winners, currently 79, whilst dam-sire Encosta De Lago looks likely to again be Australia's leading broodmare sire (click to view).
