Divine Prophet among 120 entered for 2017 Australian Guineas

Proisir's Gr.1 Caulfield Guineas winning full-brother Divine Prophet joins other top colts Astern and Prized Icon among the 120 nominations for the Group I Australian Guineas (1600m) at Flemington on March 4.

Divine Prophet (white sleeves) pictured winning the 2016 Caulfield Guineas from  Seaburge (blue and green hoops) and Hey Doc (orange cap).

The 2017 number of entries for the $750,000 event represents a rise 10 of on last year's numbers with the race attracting nominations from connections of the Golden Rose, Caulfield Guineas and Victoria Derby winners.

In an ordinary piece of programming, the Australian Guineas clashes with the Randwick Guineas, which could drain the Melbourne version of the presence of the Sydney-trained gallopers.

Caulfield Guineas placegetters Seaburge and Hey Doc are among the Australian Guineas entries while Kiwi trainers Stephen Autridge and Jamie Richards have entered Group I Levin Classic winner Hall Of Fame as well as two-year-old Group I winner Heroic Valour.

Group I Myer Classic winner I Am A Star is a chance to notch her second Group I win over the Flemington 1600m course after she defeated the older mares over the trip in the spring.
