Pentire mare Cherry Bay gained her due reward when she broke maiden ranks on her home track this afternoon.
Trained at Pukekohe by Nigel Tiley, the mare was overdue to break through after going close on several earlier occasions.
The Rich Hill Stud graduate had weighed in nine times from her previous 13 appearances.
Cherry Bay was purchased out of the farm's 2013 Premier Sale draft to Karaka for $48,000.
She is a daughter of the Danzero mare Danbourne, who is a three-quarter sister to the Gr.1 Brisbane Cup winner Danestorm.
The New Zealand Group One performer Shanzero also figures prominently in the pedigree.
